Produced in bioplastics by ODC in Grand Paris, this new Pli letter holder features a textured finish. It is available in black, red, blue, and yellow—the latter paying homage to the iconic color of the French postal service, La Poste. This version signifies a shift towards local, technology-driven production, transforming a utilitarian accessory into a specialized 3D-printed piece.
Twenty-five years after its initial launch in 2000, the Pli letter holder is being released in an all-new edition. It was originally designed in 1999 as a reinterpretation of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) postal pictogram.
To commemorate this 25th anniversary, Ozgen Design is replacing traditional production methods, such as laser cutting and epoxy painting, with 3D printing. This change in manufacturing has led to an evolution in the form of the letter holder, with its lines adapted to the specific constraints and possibilities of additive manufacturing. As a result, the original 1999 design has evolved into a new geometry shaped by the technical characteristics of three-dimensional printing.
The lines visible on the surfaces are an inherent result of the 3D printing process and should not be considered manufacturing defects.
Dimensions: 12 cm x 9 cm x 4 cm . Comes in a 13cm x 10,5cm x 5cm individual cardboard box.
